Our Programs at a Glance
There are so many urgent priorities when it comes to improving young adult mental health experiences! Fortunately, there are also many organizations trying to address those priorities.
At BrightLove, our goal is not to replicate those efforts, but to build on them in our own unique way, and to fill in what we consider to be some critical gaps in support.
You can help us do that! Our volunteers are our strength, and we hope that you will lend a hand by getting involved in any way that works for you. Below is a summary of our programs - please contact us if you have any questions or would like to learn more.

Hope Through Harmony
Music is a transformative power for mental wellbeing. It heals trauma, soothes anxiety, breaks down barriers, and inspires hope.
BrightLove can bring music therapy opportunities to your campus or community, and/or empower you to set up your own live/virtual therapeutic music group. Drum circles, song-writing workshops, chorus gatherings, jam sessions are all proven ways to lower stress and create camaraderie.
Contact us if you interested in working with this project. or would like our help to set up an event. If you would like to stage a live/virtual concert or musical event to raise awareness of the BrightLove Project and our goals, we can help! Please contact us.
BrightLove BFFs
Let’s embrace the incomparable healing power of the furry friends who are always there for us!
We can bring Therapy Dogs, Puppy Yoga, and other animal encounters to your campus or community, to help relieve stress and break down loneliness. Contact us if you are interested!
Embrace the positivity of cute animal videos and photos! Follow BrightLove BFFs on social media and share your favorites. :)
Emotional Support Animals can be a real benefit for students struggling with psychological illness on campus, but restrictive regulations often mean the practicalities become overwhelming. We are advocating for students to be allowed to bring ESAs to campus with supports in place in dorms to promote the best experience for the student, the animal and the community. Add your voice!
BrightLove Medication Safety Forum
Help us fight for improved access to effective mental health medications, with proper supervision and management of prescriptions.
Many mental illnesses start to emerge during your late teens, meaning young adulthood can be a critical time for prescription of new, potentially life-saving medications that can have a powerful impact on your mental and physical wellbeing. Unfortunately, the serious shortage of healthcare professionals with the authority to prescribe these medications means that it can be hard to get timely appointments with providers, and follow up or supervision for new prescriptions is often woefully inadequate.
For college students who are away from home for the first time navigating new healthcare systems and routines, insufficient supervision and support for prescription mental health medications can be particularly problematic.
We are advocating for better mental health medication management resources for young adults, especially on college campuses. In addition we will fund research and innovation that helps address this important issue.
